Ignition Coil I Primary/Secondary Circuit Fault

What does this code mean?

Severity : High

P0359 reports a fault in the primary or secondary circuit of ignition coil I, which usually corresponds to cylinder 9. The module does not see the expected coil operation. A cylinder without spark misfires, which can damage the catalytic converter if you keep driving.

Symptoms

  • Check engine light on or flashing.
  • Misfires and a shaking engine.
  • Loss of power.
  • Higher fuel consumption and raw fuel smell.

  • Failed ignition coil I.
  • Corroded or unplugged coil connector.
  • Control wire open or shorted.
