P2452
PPowertrainDPF Pressure Sensor A Circuit
What does this code mean?
Severity : MediumP2452 indicates a fault in the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor A circuit, usually the differential pressure sensor. The ECU detects a missing or implausible signal on this circuit. Without this input, it can no longer estimate DPF soot load correctly or manage regenerations.
Symptoms
- Check engine or DPF warning light on.
- Possible limp mode with reduced power.
- Regenerations poorly managed or not happening.
- Risk of filter clogging if the fault persists.
Possible causes
- Sensor connector unplugged, corroded or damaged.
- Wiring broken or shorted, often near the hot exhaust.
- Faulty differential pressure sensor.
- Problem with the 5 V reference shared with other sensors.
Diagnosis and repair
- Inspect the sensor connector and wiring, especially near hot areas.
- Measure reference voltage, ground and signal at the connector.
- Check in live data that the reading is plausible with the engine off.
- Repair the wiring or replace the sensor.
- Clear the code and road test.
