What does this code mean?
Severity : MediumP2213 reports a fault in the NOx sensor circuit, bank 2. This sensor measures nitrogen oxides in the exhaust to control and monitor the emissions system, especially SCR with AdBlue/DEF. The module detects an electrical fault or an unusable signal from this sensor.
Symptoms
- Check engine light on.
- Possible emissions or AdBlue/DEF warning message.
- Disturbed reductant dosing.
- Eventual power limitation on some vehicles.
Possible causes
- Failed bank 2 NOx sensor.
- Heat-damaged wiring or connector.
- Faulty sensor power supply or ground.
- Communication fault with the sensor control unit.
- Faulty control module, less often.
Diagnosis and repair
- Inspect the bank 2 NOx sensor connector and wiring.
