What does this code mean?
Severity : LowU0514 means a control module is receiving invalid data from the mirror control module. This module handles adjustment, folding and sometimes heating of the door mirrors. Communication exists but the messages are implausible. The fault affects comfort features, not how the engine runs.
Symptoms
- Mirrors no longer adjust or fold.
- Mirror heating not working.
- Mirror memory positions not working.
- Other network codes possible.
Possible causes
- Faulty or incorrectly programmed mirror module.
- Corroded connector, often inside the door.
- Pinched or broken wiring in the door hinge area.
- Low battery voltage.
Diagnosis and repair
- Check battery charge.
- Inspect the wiring inside the door hinge boot.
- Check power, ground and connector at the module.
- Check whether the module needs an update or coding.
- Replace the module if needed, then clear the code and test the mirrors.
