U0107
UNetworkLost Communication With Throttle Actuator Module
What does this code mean?
Severity : HighU0107 means the engine control module has stopped receiving messages from the throttle actuator control module over the CAN network. Without this link the ECU cannot manage throttle opening properly, so it usually switches to limp mode for safety reasons.
Symptoms
- Check engine light on.
- Limp mode with heavily reduced power.
- Accelerator pedal has no effect or engine stuck at idle.
- Hard starting or stalling.
Possible causes
- Throttle body connector unplugged, corroded or damaged.
- Open or shorted wiring between throttle body and control module.
- Faulty power supply or ground to the throttle module.
- Failed electronic throttle body.
- CAN network fault or faulty engine control module.
Diagnosis and repair
- Read all stored codes, especially other U codes and throttle codes.
- Inspect the throttle body connector and harness.
- Check power and ground at the module with a multimeter.
- Test the CAN lines and their termination resistance.
- Replace the throttle body if wiring is good, then clear the code and road test.
