PPowertrainECU Internal Knock Sensor Processor 2 Performance
What does this code mean?
Severity : MediumP06B7 indicates a performance fault in the internal control module processor that handles the knock sensor 2 signal. The module checks this processing circuit itself and detects an inconsistent result. It may then limit ignition timing as a precaution. Depending on the manufacturer, a sensor or wiring fault can also set this code.
Symptoms
- Check engine light on.
- Reduced power or sluggish response.
- Higher fuel consumption.
- Other knock sensor codes may be stored.
Possible causes
- Internal engine control module fault.
- Knock sensor 2 or its wiring disturbing signal processing.
- Unstable module supply voltage or ground.
- Control module software needing an update.
- Moisture in the module or its connector.
Diagnosis and repair
- Check battery, charging and module grounds.
- Inspect knock sensor 2, its connector and wiring.
- Deal with any other knock related codes first.
- Check for manufacturer software updates.
- Replace or repair the control module if the fault persists, then clear the code.
