What does this code mean?
Severity : MediumC1949 reports an open circuit on the accelerometer sensor used by the braking or stability system to measure vehicle movement. The module no longer receives a usable signal. This is a manufacturer-specific chassis code: the exact meaning depends on the manufacturer.
Symptoms
- ESC, ABS or traction control light on.
- Stability or traction control disabled.
- Hill start assist sometimes unavailable.
- Normal braking usually still available.
Possible causes
- Sensor connector unplugged or corroded.

- Failed accelerometer sensor.
- Internal ABS/ESC module fault, less often.
